With Ramadan around the corner, it reminds me of local beliefs and I’m always trying to find new ways to be respectful and still look put together and stylish.

I’m not a huge knitter like my Mum, but that doesn’t mean I can’t make my own turban! I was first introduced to the turban trend a few years ago when some acquaintances begun a small business to support friends with Breast Cancer and I loved it. This year I decided to revisit it in the lovely maroon color we have been seeing everywhere. I think you’ll love the results!

Turban Style

I was really inspired by all of the lovely street style images i’ve found on the web. Over the past few years I have seen so many turban inspired looks, from headbands to cleverly tied headscarves to knitted hats. I love them all!

Turban finished product

I used this tutorial to make my hat. I highly recommend it, it was easy to follow and offers three size options. There are many more tutorial options on the web, like this one, and this one for a headband style (turband! get it?).

Fabric and more's Organic Knit is perfect for a Summery light version of this Turban, but pretty much any knit would do the trick!
